Gameplay
Hole.io is a game that incorporates many game mechanics. The player’s goal in Classic mode is to become the largest black hole by the end of a two-minute round by traveling around the area and eating trees, people, vehicles, and other appropriately sized items that fall into the black hole. As the void becomes bigger, it becomes capable of drawing in buildings and smaller black holes.
Players must take advantage of the game’s real-time physics and optimize their direction for maximum growth. Other black holes will swallow the player’s hole, causing it to “die” and reappear after a few seconds.
Both Classic and “Battle” modes are played against machines rather than other players. In addition, there is a solo mode that allows players to play along with the aim of consuming as much of the city as possible in two minutes. The game’s basic mechanics place it in the hyper-casual genre.
At the end of each round, players are given points that count toward their level. Each level unlocks new skins that can be used to customize the look of the hole. Other skins can be unlocked by completing specific tasks in the game.
