Friday Night Funkin’ is currently a booming game in the rhythm sector. This game was released back in November, 2020 and has a huge fan base from then. The major attraction of this game is it’s music and it’s mods, which allows a player to find a lot of interesting content available to play. From November only, the game has witnessed a lot of mods which happened because it is an open source game. Many fans try to give this game their own taste. So, you might be thinking, how do they actually modify the game? I am saying you can do it too. It is very easy, just follow these steps.
Requirements for this easy mod making are :
- An Image editing software, ( My preference- Photoshop)
- An audio editing software and ( My preference- Audacity)
- Obviously, the game. (Friday Night Funkin’)
Image Editing
First step is to,open the images of the character you want to edit from the game folder only. Then, make the specific changes in the character or build your new character if you want to. When your modified character is ready, you can save the image by replacing the image of the character you desire to replace.
Audio Editing
Now, open a project in your audio editor and drag the files into it. This file must be the one which you desire to add in you mod. Your project must have an instrumental track as well as the vocal track(character’s voice) in the same project. When your sound is ready, export your music file as .OGG directly to the music folder of the game and replace it with any game song which you desire to replace.
Creating Custom Song Chart
First of all, select a particular song in free play mode. Now, when the song has started, press 7 on your keyboard. The ‘in-game song editor’ will open. Now here is the guide for editing songs and notes here:
- Left and right button on the keyboard will scroll between two sections.
- Left click allows you to place down notes.
- W and S key will let you, to pen up and down the notes section (on left hand side) so that you can place notes on the lower side.
The three tabs on the right side : In the Notes tab, you will be allowed to increase the length of notes. In the, section tab, you will be allowed to copy the previous notes and select, whether our main character will follow notes made in 4 boxes on the right side or in 4 boxes on the left side of the notes section. The song tab will allow you to change the name of the song, beats per minute or tempo of the song. You can also change which character shows up in that round but it should not be changed as of now because it can cause your game to crash. When you are done with selecting the songs and making the notes, remember to save your song.
Now, your desired mod is ready to play.
