Candlekeep Mysteries is right around the corner and we can’t wait! An addition to the Dungeons and Dragons game, the book is filled with a plethora of adventures for the game! Here’s all you need to know about the Candlekeep Mysteries release date and where you can find it:
Dungeons and Dragons
For those of you who don’t know what Dungeons and Dragons is, it is a table-top fantasy game that involves dice and your imagination! The game can be played anywhere, just get your friends along to embark on an adventure.
The game is rather simple. Players make up their own characters in a character sheet, where they highlight their abilities. Abilities include Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma which can be described by the player. Once that’s out of the way, the character then needs a type of species, like humans or elves for example. Along with this, they need to describe their occupations, alignment, and a couple of other details to paint a better picture of what their character is like.
Now, the stage is set. The players traverse across lands, doing tasks and fighting enemies. These skirmishes can help players gain experience points that can help them progress in terms of their capabilities. Keep in mind all decisions taken by players in terms of their characters are imaginative and verbal, however, the tasks are not. One player acts as a Dungeon Master who controls the game decisions and tells players the outcomes of their decisions. Tasks can be anything from opening locks, to pickpocketing, fighting, magic, etc. Dungeons and Dragons is the most sold Role Playing game with over 20 million people that have played the game.
Candlekeep Mysteries
So what is Candlekeep Mysteries? It is an addition to Dungeons and Dragons, a book that contains 17 different adventures players can explore. These stories can be played as a one-shot game or can be integrated with other stories. Along with this, the book includes a poster map of the library fortress and detailed descriptions of Candlekeep and its inhabitants. Players across levels 1-16 can enjoy Candlekeep Mysteries.
