Roblox generated $2.29 billion revenue in 2020, according to SuperData

Roblox has seen a tremendous increase in its player base in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic situation. Being released in 2006, Roblox has been popular ever since and now has over 150M monthly users. Roblox allows gamers to play and connect across platforms including Xbox, PC, mobiles, and tablets. Currently, it has a valuation of $29.5B,  making it one of the most valuable private companies in the world, according to techcrunch. However, SuperData has provided some data on the revenue generated by different games including Roblox in 2020. Here’s everything you need to know.

Roblox Revenue 2020- SuperData

So, SuperData is a website that provides qualitative and quantitative insights on various games available. They recently released theirs In Year Review Report of 2020 in which they shared the statistics of the Games and Interactive media’s earnings in 2020.

Roblox came third in SuperData’s list of top 10 free-to-play titles in 2020 generating a whopping total of $2.29B. This year marks the all-time high revenue numbers for Roblox. In 2017, it managed to generate somewhat over $45M, but later in 2018 and 2019, the revenue numbers increased to $335M and $435M respectively. Reaching the $2B mark is a no joke as many premium titles failed to do so in 2020. For more information, you can head to Businessofapps.com.

SuperData, in their 2020 review report stated that Roblox surpassed Fortnite in terms of revenue and this was only possible due to its strong and consistent mobile growth. Roblox also surpassed famous free-to-play titles including PokemonGo and League of Legends in terms of revenue in 2020 as well.

Roblox is yet to reach its peak as it is just the beginning of its success. With cross-platform implementations, it has become a platform where gamers can socialize and enjoy unique and creative user-created games. Now, after hitting huge numbers in revenue, the company will be focusing on bringing new and exclusive content into the game for the community that has been supporting it for a long time.
