In today’s era, where people literally cannot go out and attend large events or even colleges, Microsoft is a company that has gained the heart of the public. Whether it be the Teams app with its excellent features for schools & colleges or the Stream app for live events. Microsoft has helped many people to keep their work going without any hiccups during this pandemic.
Microsoft has increased the number of participants that can be present on the live stream. These live streams can be done through Microsoft 365 apps like Teams, Yammer or Stream. Microsoft not only extended the number of participants, but also the time duration of the live streams. These limits will be extended temporarily till 30th June 2021.
People will now be able to hold events of upto 20,000 participants which is very beneficial for colleges and schools for holding guest lectures, farewells, convocations, etc. The tenants will now be able to hold 50 events at the same time and the event’s time duration has now been extended to 16 hours. The increase in time duration will help people hold longer discussions and hold events for longer periods. Live music concerts can also be held through the Microsoft apps now.
In these times, the increase in these limits was needed. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, sessions with large crowd is a risk because of the virus’s rapid spread. Also, with a new strain of the virus found in UK just a few days ago, may mean that just for our safety we will have to live the digital life a little more.
The increase in these limits were announced on a technocommunity resources page. If you do need to hold events with more than 10,000 participants, the host will need an Advanced Communications License and the same license would be needed to hold events for more than four hours after June 30, 2021.
