Payday 3, the successor of the popular cooperative shooter game Payday 2 will be up for release soon. The game is being developed by a Swedish studio Overkill and will be published by Starbreeze as for all the games in the Payday series. Although complete information regarding Payday 3’s release has not been revealed yet, some new information has come to light. Here’s everything you need to know.
Payday 3- Launch updates
Starbreeze has confirmed the release of Payday 3 along with some of the details. However, due to the failed launch of Overkill’s The Walking Dead, they have been facing financial issues throughout. The game was launched on Steam but failed to gain any recognition due to its poor graphics quality and lack of engaging gameplay. Unless their financial condition takes an upward thrust, they will be bound to push the release date for Payday 3 further and further.
However, Starbreeze expects positive and improved cash flow in the coming years with new publishing agreements in 2020. Also, incoming payments from publishing agreements of their release of the mobile game- Payday Crime War will increase their future financial position to a decent level.
Coming to the information regarding Payday 3, @PAYDAYGame, the official Payday 2 Twitter page has revealed in a post that the game Payday 3 is currently in the Design Phase and the release date is termed “TDA”. One good news is that Payday 3 will be based on Unreal Engine. However, we can expect its release somewhere between 2022 and 2024.
