A Treyarch developer told the internet that every Call of Duty has tunable Skill-based match-making up to some extent, during the rollout of the “alpha” weekend of the game which struck some controversy due to some bugs and errors which are not expected in an Alpha version of the game. Since one of the most awaited Call of Duty game is launched on Alpha, Playstation users have got the advantage as they were the only one to enjoy the early access Alpha of the game.
But one thing that has always been noticeable and the hot topic in the server is about the importance of SBMM(Skill Based Matchmaking). SBMM preaches that a player gets an active lobby with the same amount of skills and tactical knowledge so that everyone is at the same level. This avoids one-sided games in which one person or teams takes down the whole server and win the game against those who are less skilled than them.
But many people opposed this as they wanted the casual mode to be more casual rather foreseeing it as a competitive or a ranked game. Many professional Call of Duty players also opposed this decision.
A fan came to twitter opposing SBMM and told everyone that all legendary Call of Duty games that were amazing and loved by the fans didn’t have SBMM. Later the Treyarch Developer clarified that every Call of Duty game has SBMM up to some extent.
