Vivo iQOO 5 Specifications teased with 120W Super Fast Charging

Vivo’s iQOO 3 had just been establishing itself in the overcrowded flagship market since it’s launch in March 2020, but 5 months down the lane Vivo has teased its customers with another new offering, welcome the successor; iQOO 5!

The teaser doesn’t reveal anything about the cosmetics of the phone. The iQOO 3 had an impressive 6.44 inch Super AMOLED screen and was built of the Aluminum frame. Overall, it was a fascinating package with features like Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 chipset, a flagship obvious, among the multiple variants on offer, the top-end variant had 256 GB of internal storage and 12 GB of RAM and 5G, which is, to say the least, massive.

Given the fact that its predecessor houses a 4400 mAh battery with a 55W fast charging that took it 0-50% charge in about 15 minutes, the iQ005’s claims make it nothing short of a game-changer.  In terms of commercial phones, it will be the first in the world to get a 120W Fast TUV certified charging which will deliver an estimated output of 100% charge in 15 minutes.

In terms of hardware, we might not see a lot changing and after the decent response that iQOO 3 received, Vivo would like to continue with the Snapdragon 865 chipset. However, given that the 5 series will also be as varying as the 3 series, the top-end variant might house the Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC chipset. The memory setup is also carried over from the iQOO 3 series and will be an LPDDR5 Ram With UFS 3.1 Flash Storage.

The iQOO 3 (5G) with 12GB Ram, 256 GB Internal Storage is priced at 44,990 latest on Flipkart. The Quad Camera setup on the rear will mostly be carried on as well, though we might expect a change in terms of the front camera. iQ00 3 had a single-camera setup (16 MP), so with the 5 series, they have an opportunity to improve in that aspect, where its competition does perform better. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite and OnePlus 7 are its straight competitors if one were to forget the buzz around 5G and splash a little less cash.
