The worst thing about playing an online MOBA has always been a toxic community. Don’t you hate it when one player who gets tilted for no apparent reason either leaves you hanging by leaving. Or he just starts feeding and flaming teammates left and right. Smoothening and bettering gaming experience has been a priority for League of Legends devs since time immemorial. In another behavioural system update, Lol & Riot will start punishing feeders.
In the recent official post for August 2020, Devs have highlighted a number of plans to cast out toxic players that don’t conform to the standards and etiquette of playing a multiplayer game. The focus is on minimising the damage done by players who randomly go AFK or just run down a lane to feed. “100s of depressing manual VOD reviews and verification exercises, we think we’re in a good enough place to start getting improvements to how we detect intentional feeding and idle/AFK behaviors out for testing.” said the post.
The punishment includes a detention in low priority pools, longer queue times and warning in live games that go AFK telling them the punishment in advance.
Another player behavior update from the team:
The parts I’m most excited about
-LP mitigation if your teammate afks
-early surrender if you have an afk
-doubling the effectiveness of our int detectionThis is still just a start, we have more cominghttps://t.co/f4jWFVXnJH

The coolest point to notice among this is auto-ban detection. When a teammate in game specifically targets your champion to grief you or force in another game, he might get flagged by the system and banned. In this update, the person will get a pop-up on confirmation of the ban if the teammate is already hovering over the champion.
There will also be more variety of trying to report people after a game ends to give the most appropriate punishment. It was only two patches ago when Riot added Muting and Champion Select Reporting to the game which have been tremendously successful. It looks from this that there are still some stricter methods that Riot wants to employ against disruptive gameplay to demotivate players to do this.
