The process of ageing up pets in Adopt Me is fairly straightforward, but it’s a little bit of grunt work. This may take up a chunk of your time, so knowing what you are in for is the best strategy. So let’s take a look at how a pet ages, and how many tasks you need to complete based on the rarity of the pet you have!

Pet Ages List in Order

The ages/levels of a normal pet to Adopt Me in order are as follows:

  • Newborn
  • Junior
  • Pre-Teen
  • Teen
  • Post-Teen
  • Full Grown

This is same for all regardless of rarity and is the natural progression of things in the game. You can make 4 full-grown pet into a neon pet and then age it 6 levels again. The name of the ages for a neon pet is different but the concept behind it is the same.

  • Reborn
  • Twinkle
  • Sparkle
  • Flare
  • Sunshine
  • Luminous

Levelling up the Pet

Certain amount or number of tasks will lead to ageing a level. The number of tasks increases as the pets get rarer so it requires an incremented amount of work to age them. Here is a list of the number of objectives you need to complete to get each rarity level to a full-grown pet.

Common Pet Ages

  • Newborn – 3 Tasks
  • Junior – 6 Tasks
  • Pre-Teen – 11 Tasks
  • Teen – 16 Tasks
  • Post-Teen – 20 Tasks

Uncommon Pet

  • Newborn – 5 Tasks
  • Junior – 9 Tasks
  • Pre-Teen – 13 Tasks
  • Teen – 18 Tasks
  • Post-Teen – 25 Tasks

Rare Pet

  • Newborn – 10 Tasks
  • Junior – 20 Tasks
  • Pre-Teen – 30 Tasks
  • Teen – 40 Tasks
  • Post-Teen – 50 Tasks

Ultra-Rare Pet

  • Newborn – 12 Tasks
  • Junior – 25 Tasks
  • Pre-Teen – 36 Tasks
  • Teen – 47 Tasks
  • Post-Teen – 58 Tasks

Legendary Pet

  • Newborn – 13 Tasks
  • Junior – 26 Tasks
  • Pre-Teen – 38 Tasks
  • Teen – 50 Tasks
  • Post-Teen – 62 Tasks

Moving forward, a fair assumption is that the Neon pets make take the same number of tasks to climb up its levels too.  There is also the mighty Mega Neon.

You can speed up the process by creating a pet grinding room. You basically put a cheap crib, tub, feeder, and piano in one room. This allows you to complete tasks for your pet all in the same area so you don’t have to run around and waste a lot of time. But it only allows for simple tasks. But it is also the fastest way and the most efficient.
