EA has been the ice hockey champions gaming champions for some years now. As an unprecedented situation (COVID-19) put the sports industry to a halt, hockey has some hope with NHL 21. This year the kings will release the 21st edition of the game.
Now last year, NHL divided the fan base into the two modes and the reviews came out to be mixed too. Some fans thought that it brought nothing new to the table, which makes things easier now. What will be difficult to find will be a balance between the two modes and keep everyone happy.
Alright, let’s dive into the story.
Release Date
No official date yet but EA follows a strict schedule but the world situation right now makes it very difficult to speculate anything. If everything is going according to the plans for EA then we might see NHL 21 in September 2020 or October. There is no saying as the Coronavirus or COVID-19 situation keeps on extending, we might see the release next year even.
Gameplay
We expect EA like always to deliver new innovation to the game. The AI implementation to Fifa has some uses in NHL as well and we might see it taking up a spot. New skating, defending and shooting experience & outlook might drastically improve the game. So grab on as soon as we get any piece of news, we will publish it here.
Pro Mode
Is an overhaul pending? Players have felt that EA has taken no competition as a sign to ease off. Their delivery for Pro mode degrading down the last two years. Fans want to be connected to the player and want a better story mode. If EA will be blind to the criticism and not listen to players, they might get some stick in return.
HUT and Franchise Mode
HUT like FUT has gained some popularity. It was introduced last year and made full by more than 400 players added to it. The Squad Battles is a refreshing feature which updates daily for NHL 20 with new challenges.
Franchise mode got a big overhaul last game. Coaches, dynamic line chemistry, in-depth scouting report and conversations between you and the player.
Now it is EA’s job to perfect this popular mode and remove any discrepancy with it.
The hard news is EA seems to be prioritizing their higher selling franchise that is Fifa 21 and Madden. Also with the ongoing pandemic, it is a safer bet on a delay rather than on-time arrival. Happy gaming! We will keep you updated.
