If you are a fan of racing games there is a high chance that you must have heard of the DiRT series. The game is focused on rallying. The players compete in timed races on weathery terrains. The series have multiple locations and a variety of cars classed in groups. The latest edition of the DiRT series was released last year on february 26th when Codemasters, the developers decided to continue the DiRT rally series and releasing DiRT rally 2.0 when people were anticipating DiRT 5. It is now the seventh title in the DiRT series.

The game features stages in Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Spain and the United States. Codemasters also added regular expansion through downloadable content to release different stages over the course of the year. They also added a WorldRally mode which was reacted very positively by the players. The game’s approach on the weathering system saw a more nuanced approach to driving.

New game release?

Not exactly, but to celebrate the success of DiRT Rally 2.0, Codemasters is working on releasing ‘game of the year’ version that congregates all the DLC, expansion packs, adding more challenges, cars and terrains. DiRT Rally 2.0 GOTY Edition will be available on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 starting March 27, 2020.

Ross Gowing, the game director said that “After twelve months of working with our community and improving DiRT Rally 2.0, it’s great to have one complete package for both existing fans and new players to the franchise. Adding the Colin McRae Flat Out pack is the icing on the cake and the perfect way for the team to close the DiRT Rally 2.0 chapter and focus on the future of rally.”

It would be a cool entry point for new players and a good reward for all the long standing fans of the game and series in general. Let us know what you feel about the changes in the comments below!
