The game has only been released recently; as such, there aren’t many dedicated mod managers for Silksong. However, we have gathered a few worth trying. Before proceeding to mod the game, it is recommended to create a backup, either locally or on remote storage.
Thunderstore mod manager
It’s not an exclusive Silksong mod manager, but it will do the trick, as it works fine with lots of other games. Steps for installation and use are elaborated below:
Download and install the mod manager from Thunderstore. Please open it and search for Hollow Knight Silksong.
You’ll need to create a profile to add the game to the mod manager. It will automatically locate the game files.
From the left pane, select the ‘Get Mods’ option. Download the BepInEx pack pinned at the top. Select the option to download with dependencies. From the same list, you can now select the desired mods for your game.
Before proceeding to play the game, click on settings from the left pane. Find the option to change the ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ folder. Ensure that it has the directory for the game application. commonly, it is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight Silksong
For playing the game in the modded version, click on modded. For playing the normal version, click on Vanilla.

If you want to try out this Silksong mod manager, visit GitHub and scroll down to find the zip files for several operating systems. Download the one suitable for your system and extract it.
Find the game folder by following the path mentioned above or the location on your drive where you have placed the game files. If there isn’t any ‘mods’ folder, create one and place the .dll file you got after extracting.
Run the game, and the rest should be easy, as the creator vouches that the mod manager will download the required files. All you need to do is select the mods you want to have for your game.
