BTD6 mod helper: How to install and use?
There are two things to keep in mind before installing any mods. First is to have an alternate game account for installing mods, as you may get flagged for using mods. Second, you can only mod the PC version of the game either through Steam or Epic Games. With that clear, you’ll need two additional software before installing the mod helper. - Download the MelonLoader for the operating system that you have. If you are using Windows, there are separate versions for 32-bit and 64-bit, so choose accordingly.
- After downloading the zip file, you’ll need to extract it and then look for the application MelonLoader.installer. Open this application and specify the path of the game folder, and choose the latest version for installation.
- The game folder’s path is usually: ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BloonsTD6’ for Steam
- ‘C:\Program Files\Epic Games\BloonsTD6’ for Epic Games. After specifying the path, click on OK.
- You will also need the latest .NET Runtime. Navigate to the Microsoft site and download the .NET 6.0 Desktop Runtime suitable for your OS.

After you are done with the prerequisites, you can proceed to download and install the mod helper. You can download it from GitHub and extract it to get the BTD6ModHelper.dll. Navigate to the game folder and locate the Mods folder. Put the BTD6ModHelper.dll file inside the Mods folder. Once all this is done, you can launch the game and find the mods tab to access the mod browser. As for the mods, you can download them from GitHub or other trusted sources and place them in the Mods folder. You can refer to the Discord of BTD6 to get the source of the latest and safest mods.
