Back 4 Blood is a 2021 first-person shooter game developed by Turtle Rock Studios. The game is playable on various platforms such as PS4, PS5, Windows, Xbox One & Xbox Series X/S. Because of its presence on so many platforms, the developers have introduced the option of crossplay. With the help of this feature, players on different platforms can compete with each other in PvP matches. By default, crossplay is turned ON however, if it’s OFF, you can follow these steps.
Firstly, you’ll have to find Philips in Fort Hope hub and speak to him to open the play menu. Here, you can select the game mode and customize matchmaking options.
Scroll down to find the option ‘preferences’. By clicking on it, a menu will open up from where you toggle crossplay ON or OFF.
For inviting other teammates to join you for a game, you can add them in your ‘friend list’ which is available in the ‘Social’ menu. You can also send them your username so that they can invite you to their game.
Back4Blood Crossplay error troubling players: Is there any fix yet?
Players have since long-faced connection issues during crossplay. This happens every now & then when the servers are down for maintenance or an update is being pushed through servers. According to the latest information, the gamers have been complaining of another case of crossplay error on Reddit. The players are taken either to Fort hope or directly to the title screen upon disconnection. Apparently, there’s not much that can be done, as the issue is from the server’s end. Rebooting the console or restarting the game on PC will let you rejoin the game. Even so, after 10–30 mins of gameplay, the issue seems to pop up again. The players can still bring this to the developers’ notice by writing to Turtle Rock Studios.
There are a few old school methods that might work:
Using a VPN to connect to a different server. In case they have not taken down all the servers, the game should still be playable with crossplay enabled.
Using IPv6 protocol might cause game server disconnection, therefore, try disabling it. From network and internet settings on your PC, find adapter options and enable IPv4.
You can also try renewing your IP address using command prompt. Although, such great measures need not be taken as the issue is not new to this game. We would advise players to remain patient and wait for any update on the situation from the developers’ end. Meanwhile, we are closely following the issue and to keep getting updates regarding this and various other games, do visit Digistatement.
