Marvel's Spider-Man 2 How to enable Launcher

So you installed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on your PC, played a bit, and are now looking for ways to tweak the in-game settings without launching the game. You will need to do it through the launcher. The problem is, you have no idea how to do this! Well, don’t worry, as you are not alone and in this guide, we have shared all the details on how to enable the launcher in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

The launcher in the latest release allows you to adjust in-game settings without launching the game, which is particularly useful for troubleshooting crashes caused by high graphics settings. If the game crashes on startup, lowering settings via the launcher can help resolve the issue. The previous Spider-Man game also featured a launcher. So now, the question is, how to access it in this new release. More details on the same are shared below.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: How to enable Launcher

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 How to enable Launcher

If you accidentally unchecked the “Show Launcher” option when launching Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the game will skip the launcher and launch directly the next time you start it. However, you can re-enable the launcher. A quick note here is that the methods are slightly different for Steam and Epic users. The steps are outlined; follow them and you should be good!

For Steam Users

  • Close the game if it’s currently running.
  • Open Steam and go to your Library.
  • Right-click on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and select Properties.
  • Under the General tab, find the Launch Options field.
  • Type the following command:
    • -launcher
  • Make sure to type exactly as shown, with a hyphen before “launcher” and no spaces.
  • Close the Properties window and click Play.
  • The game launcher will now appear.
  • Check the “Show Launcher” box so that the launcher always appears before launching the game.
  • If you no longer need the command, you can remove -launcher from the launch options.

For Epic Games Launcher Users

  • Open the Epic Games Launcher and go to your Library.
  • Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  • Scroll down to the bottom, find Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and click to expand it.
  • Enable Additional Command Line Arguments by checking the box
  • Enter the following command:
    • -launcher
  • Close Settings and launch the game—the launcher should now appear.
  • Once the launcher appears, check the “Show Launcher” box to keep it enabled permanently.

Word of caution

Mods may interfere with the game’s launcher, causing errors similar to those seen in previous Spider-Man titles. If you’re encountering launcher issues when using mods, try disabling all mods and launching the game to see if the problem persists. Some mods may not be compatible with the latest game version or may conflict with the launcher’s functionality. Always ensure that your mods are updated and properly installed, and consider verifying game files or reinstalling if the issue continues.

Well, that is all we have to share about the launcher and how to enable it in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We hope this guide was helpful and that you were able to access the launcher to tweak the graphical and other available settings without launching the game.
