Path of Exile 2 Disable Auto Aim How to do it (2)

No matter the game, serious gamers always turn aim assist off to get more hands-on control. While auto-aim is a bane for most first-person shooters, games like Path of Exile 2 can do better without auto-aim as well. That brings us to the topic of the guide: how do you disable auto aim in Path of Exile 2? If you have been wondering the same, here is everything you need to know.

Players using controllers in Path of Exile 2 often find the auto-aim feature frustrating, as it can lock onto unintended targets during combat, limiting precision and control. And that is not all; the inability to use the right thumbstick to manually adjust targeting makes the situation even worse. All in all, auto-aim makes it difficult to focus on specific enemies or objectives during fast-paced encounters. So, is there a way to get rid of aim assist? Let’s find out.

Path of Exile 2 Disable Auto Aim: How to do it?

Path of Exile 2 Disable Auto Aim How to do it

First and foremost, the auto-aim feature in Path of Exile 2 is enabled by default, which can make disabling it a hassle for players unfamiliar with the settings. Now, without any further ado, here is how you can disable Auto Aim.

Disable Auto-Aim

Just follow the steps given below and you should be able to play without any aim assist.

  • Access the Toggle Targeting Mode: Open your skill menu and locate the “Toggle Targeting Mode” skill. This skill allows you to switch between auto-targeting and manual targeting modes.
  • Assign to Skillbar: Drag the “Toggle Targeting Mode” skill to an available slot on your skill bar. Make sure the keybind or button assigned to this slot is easily accessible during gameplay.
  • Activate the Toggle: While in-game, press the key or button corresponding to the skill slot where you placed “Toggle Targeting Mode.” You’ll know that auto-targeting is disabled when a small scope icon appears on the bottom-right corner of your screen. This indicates that the focus-fire mode is active, allowing you to manually aim and switch targets.
  • Use Focus-Fire for Precision: With focus-fire enabled, you have full control over switching and aiming at targets without interference from auto-aim.

Controller only

According to player reports, the focus-fire toggle in Path of Exile 2 appears to be a controller-exclusive skill. So, if you have been playing with a mouse and keyboard and not finding this skill, now you know why. Well, if controllers are your go-to way of playing games, this feature is invaluable, especially for classes like the Mercenary and Monk. While playing these classes, precise targeting is a must! Disabling aim assist through this skill feature will give you full control over your attacks!

Since Path of Exile 2 is still in early access, there’s hope that the developers will refine the aim assist toggle and make the setting more accessible or customizable for all players. Well, that should clear your doubts about auto-aim in Path of Exile 2. Now, for more such gaming-related content, make sure to visit DigiStatement first.
