Ravenswatch 'Party connection error', unable to join party & slow lobby issues troubling players How to fix it

Ravenswatch, the dark fantasy roguelike action game from Passtech Games, has finally seen its full version 1.0 release after spending much time in early access. Now, whether you’re a new player or a returning hero looking to join friends in co-op mode, you might find yourself facing the frustrating “Party connection errors” and experiencing sluggish lobby performance in the game. If these issues are standing in the way of your adventure, this is the guide you need to get back into the action smoothly!

Speaking about the issue, many players are reporting issues with the multiplayer feature in Ravenswatch, where they are unable to join each other’s parties, often due to connection errors or slow lobbies. This problem has become more prevalent since the recent 1.0 release, possibly due to lingering bugs or server issues affecting the new version. The important thing now is a fix so let’s see if it is available.

The developers of Ravenswatch are aware of the multiplayer connection issues and have been actively following up with affected players. Although the latest hotfix does not specifically address or list this issue under known problems, the team has acknowledged it in discussions on the Steam forums. In response to players, they stated, “We’re sorry for the connection issues, we’re still working on it. Thank you for your support and patience,” which shows that they are working on a solution. In the meantime, you can try these workarounds.

Wait it out

Currently, lobbies are experiencing delays owing to high server traffic (more player numbers), leading to longer wait times to generate a code and enable matchmaking. The developers have confirmed that while this slowdown can take several seconds to minutes, the multiplayer itself runs smoothly once the game starts. As a temporary workaround, wait out for the lobby to catch up.

Hotfix?

Another potential workaround for the multiplayer connection issue is to make sure you’ve downloaded and installed the latest hotfix, which was released on September 30th. Although it doesn’t explicitly mention fixing this problem, players have reported that the game started working fine after they updated it, suggesting that the hotfix may have resolved the issue. So, if you have not downloaded the hotfix, now is the time to do so.

Restart

If you have the latest patch installed and waiting out does not seem to help, the next step is to restart both the game and your device. Additionally, make sure to run the game as an administrator. To do so, right-click on the .exe file of Ravenswatch or its shortcut, select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and select the Run As Administrator option. Once selected, click on Ok, and launch the game via Steam to check if the issue persists.

Check Your Internet

Make sure that your internet connection is stable, as an unstable or slow connection can lead to difficulties in joining multiplayer lobbies. Restart your router if necessary, use a wired connection, or try switching networks altogether to see if the issue is with your internet.

Check if the Servers Are Down

This has been a widespread problem, mainly from the developer’s side. So, these server-side issues may be the cause of connection problems. Check the game’s official social media channels (X or Discord) and third-party websites like DownDetector to see if there are any reports of server outages affecting Ravenswatch. If yes, then wait until the servers are back online.

Keep an Eye Out for Hotfixes and Updates

The developers are actively working on addressing multiplayer issues, so make sure to keep your game updated with the latest patches and hotfixes. Perhaps, with the upcoming updates, these issues will be solved and there will be no more connection problems.

For now, these are the workarounds that could come in handy. We hope that you find this guide informative.
