Now, before you jump in to battle your friends in Season 2, you should take a look at all of these new balance changes as well. Don’t worry, we have got you covered!
MultiVersus Season 2 adds Samurai Jack & new map Water Tower, check Patch notes
Coming to the main addition, Season 2 of MultiVersus introduces Samurai Jack as a new playable fighter, which will be available immediately with the purchase of the Battle Pass. So yes, you will have to purchase the battle pass to unlock Samurai Jack. Along with that, Jason and Agent Smith can now be purchased from the store for 6000 Fighter Currency or 1000 Gleamium, while The Joker’s price has been reduced to 3000 Fighter Currency. The update also adds a new map, Water Tower, featuring three variants: default, locked door, and 1v1 version.
Ranked changes
The new Ranked mode is now available in MultiVersus for players with at least Account Level 5, offering 2v2 and 1v1 matches where you can earn Ranked Points and seasonal cosmetics. Ranked matches consist of best-of-3 sets, with penalties for leaving early, and same-character teams are not permitted. Your rank is tracked separately for each character and queue, encouraging players to rank up multiple characters across different game modes.
Rifts
The Path of the Samurai Rift is now live, with new Rifts set to be released every two weeks throughout Season 2. The latest update also addresses a fix for an issue where certain attacks would freeze when hitting destructible enemies.
Event changes
Events in MultiVersus now offer event currency and tokens that you can redeem for exclusive in-game items. New Event Shops have been introduced, so that you can exchange currency for themed skins and cosmetics. Event missions are now released weekly, and PvP games also contribute to the Event experience. Additionally, “Boost” variants have been added, which increase experience rates for Fighter Mastery, Battle Pass, Career, and Event progression. These variants can be earned and used throughout an Event to accelerate progress, though they are not required to complete the Event.
Combat changes
You can expect improved combo starters and refined ground jumps for easier aerial approaches. The term “branch window” in patch notes will now be referred to as “cancel window”. Fighters will retain ground momentum during a jump, allowing for better offensive maneuvers. Frozen fighters will now gain an incapacitate-resistance buff, while those affected by the “Stop Camping” debuff will no longer gain a dodge meter until they engage. Wall cling time has been reduced, terrain bounce knockback has been standardized, and the maximum Weakened debuff stacks have been lowered to 3. Additionally, several general bug fixes and adjustments to the Air Walker perk have been made.
