Predecessor not working on PS5 How to fix it

Since its debut a couple of years ago, Predecessor has been going strong among players, garnering positive reviews with its blend of shooter action and MOBA strategy. Even after a couple of years of release, the game is still in its early access status on platforms like PC and PlayStation. Since the game is not fully released, bugs and issues are to be expected, and that brings us to the topic of this guide. Apparently, some PlayStation 5 users have encountered issues where Predecessor is not working on their consoles. Well, if you too are encountering the same, keep reading till the end to find out how you can get rid of this issue for good.

Talking about the issues, many players like yourself have reported significant loading issues while attempting to play Predecessor on the PS5. With extended login times, missing character and friend lists, and sluggish performance, the game just becomes unplayable. Even launching practice mode fails to load characters properly. So without further ado, let’s get into the fixes.

Predecessor not working on PS5: How to fix it

Predecessor not working on PS5 How to fix it

One of the developers at Omeda Studios has acknowledged the loading issue on PlayStation 5 and assured players that they are actively investigating it. Well, some players have reported that the problem has been resolved for them, which means that a potential fix may have been released. Anyway, if you are still struggling with this issue, there are some workarounds that are worth trying.

First things first

As the first step, you should begin by restarting the game. Additionally, it’s important to make sure that you have a stable internet connection. Poor network connectivity can lead to slow loading times and other performance issues. So, go ahead and reboot your router, use a wired connection, or switch networks altogether. Finally, power cycling the console can also be beneficial. All you have to do is fully shut down the PlayStation 5, unplug it from the power source for a few minutes, and then start it. After all this, launch the game again and see if this fixes the issue.

Dev Recommended Workaround

The dev mentioned reports of players resolving loading issues in Predecessor on PlayStation 5 by changing their network settings from “Auto” to a specific configuration. This could involve manually configuring settings such as DNS servers or connection types or switching some in-game options. By adjusting these network settings, you may potentially solve the loading problems.

Start Multiplayer

Some players found a way to fix the Predecessor not working issue on PS5. Instead of opening the game normally, they selected to start a multiplayer match straight from the PS5 menu. This trick helped them see the heroes and play the game. It might not work for everyone, but it’s worth trying if you’re having trouble.

Rebuild Console

One potential workaround for resolving loading issues on PlayStation 5 involves rebuilding the console’s database. This process can help fix system errors and improve overall performance. To rebuild the console’s database, users can access the PS5’s Safe Mode by turning off the console and holding down the power button until they hear a second beep. From there, they can select the “Rebuild Database” option. Keep in mind that this process may take some time and will not delete any saved data or games.

Check for Updates

Make sure that both the game and your PlayStation 5 system software are up-to-date. Check for updates regularly by navigating to the Game Library on your PS5, selecting Predecessor, and choosing “Check for Updates” from the Options menu. Similarly, head to the Settings menu and select “System Software Update and Settings”.

Reinstall the Game

If nothing works, try reinstalling Predecessor on your PS5. Start by deleting the game from your console’s Game Library. Then, redownload Predecessor from the PlayStation Store and follow the prompts to reinstall it. Cross your fingers and launch the game.

With that, we hope you were able to get back into the game without any major issues. Anyway, keep visiting DigiStatement daily for more gaming guides and news like this. Read more: Space Engineers scripts not showing: How to fix it
