Content Warning no audio issue: How to fix it?

Content warning no audio issue How to fix it

While the developers are aware of the audio issue in Content Warning and have acknowledged it in a recent update, a permanent fix is still pending. The most recent patch update for the game featured a bunch of new items and bug fixes; however, the voice chat fix wasn’t one of them. But there is no reason to worry, as the team has shared that they are currently working on fixing the voice chat bug, along with other issues, so expect another official patch fix soon. In the meantime, there are a bunch of effective workarounds that you can try until the patch arrives. These workarounds, although successful for some players, are not guaranteed fixes. Nevertheless, they are worth a shot.

Basic Checks

  • Lower Game Volume: Within the game’s settings menu, navigate to the Audio options. Reduce the volume level of the game’s sound effects, such as footsteps and ambient noises.
  • Adjust System Volume: Increase the system volume through your PC’s volume control settings.
Adjusting the system volume higher can compensate for any lowered game volume and ensure all audio is audible.
  • Check Sound Enhancements: Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select “Open Sound settings”. Under “Sound Settings”,  scroll down and click on “Sound Control Panel” on the right side. In the Sound Control Panel, right-click on your active audio device and select “Properties”. Navigate to the “Enhancements” tab and ensure that no enhancements are enabled. Also, ensure that Spatial Sound is disabled.
  • Adjust Settings: Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type “control mmsys.cpl sounds” into the Run dialog box and press Enter. In the Sound window that opens, switch to the “Communications” tab. Select the option that says “Do nothing.” Click on “Apply” and then “OK” to save the changes. Also, make sure your audio drivers are updated.

After all these basic checks, run the game and check whether the audio is working. If not, try these workarounds:

Check inputs

Following a suggestion from the developer, players experiencing audio issues in Content Warning can attempt to change the input settings through their PC settings temporarily.  Additionally, you can try using a different mic or an output device to check if your hardware is not the culprit.

Checking for Updates

Watch out for the next patch update for Content Warning, as it can contain a fix for the audio issues in-game. If an update is released, ensure to install it and then run the game.

For Scarlet Audio Interface users

For users encountering limitations with certain apps while using the Scarlett Solo 4th gen audio interface, particularly with microphone input on Input 2, there’s a workaround available. In Focusrite Control 2 preferences, enable the “Combine Input 1 and Input 2” option. Alternatively, you can activate this feature directly on the hardware by pressing and holding the front panel ‘Direct’ button for three seconds. Upon activation, both channel number LEDs should light green, indicating that the feature is enabled.

Verifying Game Files

Another potential solution for addressing audio issues is to verify the game files. To verify game files, access Steam, go to Library, and right-click on Content Warning. Now, select the Properties option, and navigate to the Installed Files tab. Here, select the option to verify the integrity of game files and initiate the process. Once completed, relaunch the game to see if the audio issues persist.

Well, these are the workarounds we have to share to fix the audio issues in Content Warning. We hope this was helpful and for more gaming reads like this, do visit DigiStatement on a regular basis. Read more: Content Warning stuck on loading loop: How to fix it?
