TRIBES 3 Rivals Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally & Lenovo Legion Go Support Details

With the recent release of TRIBES 3: Rivals, the gaming community is excited about a new team-based, fast-paced FPS in the scene. The initial feedback is good and it has garnered early positive reviews. However, as is customary with any new release, players want to know the support details for their preferred gaming devices. Owners of the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go are particularly curious about how well the game will run on their respective platforms. Well, in this article, we have focused on the queries for those handheld gamers and shared details if there are any support details for these devices.

While there are a lot of games ranging from survival horror and farm sims to causal RPGs to be enjoyed on the Deck, Ally, and the Go, not many team-based FPS games are available for these handheld systems. So, having TRIBES 3: Rivals on these devices is a big deal. It’s perfect for those who love competitive FPS games but want to play on the go without needing a fancy gaming setup or a special chair for aiming.

Steam Deck

Officially, TRIBES 3: Rivals is not yet deck-verified or playable on the Steam Deck and there have been numerous requests from players for native Linux and Steam Deck support. As for unofficial reports, the Proton page for the game is currently empty, lacking any player reports to provide insight into its compatibility on the Steam Deck. Nevertheless, during the playtest in December 2023, some players were able to run the game on the Steam Deck. Additionally, there are reports of the game working fine on the Deck with a bit of tweaking. The conclusion drawn from these reports suggests that TRIBES 3: Rivals is indeed playable on the Steam Deck but not without bugs and other issues. So, if you are going to try running the game on your Steam Deck after reading this, don’t be surprised to see crashes and other issues.

Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go

Similarly to the Steam Deck, TRIBES 3: Rivals lacks official support for the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. However, due to its modest system requirements and the fact that both of these handhelds run on Windows OS, many players have taken the initiative to try running the game on their Ally and Go devices. Surprisingly, they’ve discovered that the game is indeed playable on these platforms. While we did find a gameplay video for the Asus Rog Ally, we cannot say the same for the Lenovo Legion Go. But because both of these devices share similar hardware specs and also run on Windows, it is safe to assume that Legion Go would run the game just as well.

So, if you happen to own these handheld devices, you can certainly give TRIBES 3: Rivals a try on them. For the most part, you might find success in launching and playing the game. However, it’s essential to keep in mind that the controls might not be perfectly optimized for a fast-paced FPS like this one. Due to the nature of handheld devices and their input methods, the experience may be less than ideal for some players. Anyway, we hope your doubts were cleared.
