Pocket Pair’s Palworld did the unthinkable when the game managed to sell eight million copies in its first six days. That’s not all, though. The game even managed to surpass Valve’s Counter-Strike 2 on Steam in both all-time peak and active player count. A feat that not many games have been able to achieve. But Palworld easily did. However, being an early-access title, it’s evident that there would be a number of major issues in the game. And right now, the biggest one happens to be the Lifmunk Effigy bug.
For the uninitiated, Lifmunk Effigy is a collectible in Palworld that improves the capture rate. Unfortunately, currently, there’s a bug that is doing the opposite. The Lifmunk Effigy is instead reducing the capture rate and, as such, has become quite a serious source of frustration for many players. So, can this issue be fixed? Well, continue reading to find out.
Palworld Lifmunk Effigy bug troubling users: Is there any fix yet
Since there’s no official fix available for this right now, you will have to make do with the following workarounds. Try these and see if any of them are of help.
Edit your saved game files –
A common fix for this particular issue is to simply edit the game’s saved files. At least, that’s what this player did. So, what you should do is get to your save files and then reset the Effigy level to 1. Next, refund all of your Lifmunk Effigy into your inventory and launch the game. If the issue gets fixed, then great; if it doesn’t, try the next workaround.
Use Memory Wiping Machine –
Now, we aren’t confident that this method will work. Before Steam patch v0.1.4.0 and Xbox patch v0.1.1.3, players were able to circumvent this issue by using a Memory Wiping Machine. However, that patch closed this workaround. You can find the fix notice under Player Issues in the Patch notes:
Fixed an issue where capture power strengthened by Lifmunk Effigies was reset when using memory reset drugs
So, if you want, you can try using Memory Wiping Machine but keep your expectations low for the outcome.
Don’t use Lifmunk Effigy –
A better “fix” of sorts is to simply avoid using Lifmunk Energy until Pocket Pair fixes this issue. For now, try catching Pals as you normally would.
Join a dedicated/private server –
This is an alternative of sorts. Since private servers can change the game’s rules, many have tried dealing with this issue by setting the capture rate higher. And that’s what we suggest you do too, if you are hosting a private server. If not, then join a private server that does this.
Get a mod –
PC players can also make use of a certain mod to combat this issue. Basically, you need to head to this NexusMods webpage and get the Increased World Settings Limits mod. Install it and then change the capture rate to the one you prefer. And, if you don’t like using mods, you can just delete the mod after you have installed it, and hopefully, this will make the game reset values, fixing the bug. At least it did for Steam user SilverShade.
Wait for the developers to release an update –
Since this is a game-breaking issue that is being reported by many, it is only a matter of time before the developers fix it with an update. So, keep an eye out for any pending updates for the game, and install it.
