As expected, Studio Wildcard’s remake of Ark: Survival Evolved is a successful mess. While the game has a good number of players joining in the fun, it unfortunately suffers from Studio Wildcard’s incompetence in optimizing their games. As a result, Ark: Survival Ascended has a lot of bugs and errors that are in immediate need of fixing. And among those happens to be the No Sound/Audio Not Working issue.
Players in ASA seem to be suffering from some audio-related issues. There have been cases where players can get sound during the startup and character creation screens but not in-game. And considering how common this issue is with other games, it’s quite hard to find one sole cause. However, thanks to it being a common issue, there are some fixes that can be used against it. So, is there a fix for the same? Consider reading to find out.
Ark Survival Ascended (ASA) No Sound/Audio Not Working Issue: Is there any fix yet
As there is no official fix for this issue yet, players are suggested to try the following workarounds to resolve this issue:
Restart –
Well, first of all, we suggest you try the restart method. Start with restarting the game, and if the issue remains, move on to restarting your PC. It’s a pretty quick and simple method, so you will get to know the results fast enough. In case you still aren’t able to get proper audio, try another method.
Verify files –
The issue could also be the result of the game missing its files. Fortunately, there’s a quick way to fix that. All you need to do is:
- Open Steam and navigate to Library.
- From there, find Ark: Survival Ascended and right-click on it.
- Select Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files.
- Once the process is over, restart your PC and then launch the game.
Set Sound Sample rate to 48/44k Hz –
For this workaround, you need to open the Control Panel first and then click on Hardware and Sound > Sound. When the Sound Control Panel opens up, select your primary audio device and right-click on it. Select Properties, switch to Advanced, and choose either 48 or 44 kHz from the dropdown menu. End the process by clicking Apply and OK.
Switch to wired connection –
If you have been using a Bluetooth audio device so far and are not getting the desired results, then we recommend you plug it in via the USB. This will most likely resolve your issue. A wired connection might be all you need to get rid of this issue.
Select the right audio device –
Maybe the reason you are getting no audio in ASA is because you haven’t selected the right audio device. So the best way to correct this mistake is to simply press Windows + G, and this will open the Xbox Gamebar. Now, click on the speaker icon, and then choose the correct audio device from the drop-down menu. You can also scroll down and ensure that volumes are not set to a minimum.
Reinstall –
If you are unable to get rid of this issue by now, then the only way to deal with it is by reinstalling the entire game. Don’t forget to save your progress before you proceed with this method. Next, just uninstall the game, and then put it on a download. After the installation is complete, launch the game and see if you can hear in-game audio.
Well, these are all the workarounds you can try, for now. However, if you are encountering server-related issues in the game, consider reading this guide. And as always, follow DigiStatement for more guides like this. Also read: Ark Survival Ascended (ASA) Best Settings for High FPS & Low Input Lag
