German video game development studio Deck13 has released its latest title, Atlas Fallen. Originally revealed back in August of 2022 during Gamescom, the game finally saw its official release on August 10, 2023, after suffering one delay. Atlas Fallen marks a new chapter for the studio, as it had previously been known for putting out Souls-like titles like The Surge series. It is an action-RPG title that takes its inspiration from games like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. A canon for sure, but one who will die from one powerful and critical hit from the enemy. That’s why you must devote some time to upgrading your armor in the game. How to upgrade Armor in Atlas Fallen
Upgrading any type of Armor in Atlas Fallen will require one major item: Anvil. Well, finding these will not be that hard since every major area and settlement in the game will have one. Plus, they also serve as checkpoints in the game, so you will eventually have to look out for them.
Anvils in Atlas Fallen are hidden, as in, they are buried deep underground. However, the game gives you enough clues to locate them easily. To find an anvil, scan your environment for glowing cracks in the sand along with the shining blue light of Nyaal. When you find something matching this description, go near it and use the Raise ability to lift up the buried anvil. Now, interact with the anvil, following which Nyaal himself will manifest. Interact once again, and this will open the main menu. You will see a lot of options here, but for the purpose of this guide, select the one named – Armour Upgrades.
Now, when it comes to upgrading armor, players will need Essence Dust. These can be acquired by either completing quests, exploring, or defeating enemies in the game. Like most other games, the armor in Atlas Fallen can also be upgraded multiple times. As such, try to gather as much Essence Dust as possible. Additionally, players also have a chance to receive Perk Token when they upgrade armor. These can be very helpful as they will unlock Perks. Once you unlock them, equip them with your best armor, and feel the power of perks in combat.
