Created by Creative Business Unit III of Square Enix, Final Fantasy 16 was finally released on June 22, 2023. The game has been in development for quite some time, with concept work beginning in 2015 and full production starting the following year, in 2016. Right now, the game is only available on the PlayStation 5 as a timed exclusive. There is no word on a PlayStation 4 release, though, as it seems that the game will most likely skip that generation due to its demanding nature. A PC release will be there; it’s just a matter of when. FF16’s predecessor, Final Fantasy XV, wasn’t that well received by both critics and fans, with more criticism going towards its simplistic combat and open-world woes. All in all, it was a divisive game. Final Fantasy 16 tries its best to correct the mistakes of its predecessor, and suffice it to say, it pretty much succeeds in doing that. The game’s story is up to the series’ standards, while the combat is fast and reflex-driven with an appropriate amount of complexity. Now, since the game is such a fresh release, many new players are finding it hard to get some items in it. The Demontamer’s Sash is one of them.
Items, or more specifically, equipment, in Final Fantasy games, are an age-old tradition. It provides the player with a stat boost and also encourages them to explore more. Plus, when it comes to fights, even a slight boost in stats can be a game-changer. Final Fantasy 16 also offers such equipment scattered all over its world map. But where is Demontamer’s Sash exactly? Well, here’s a guide to help you with that.
Final Fantasy 16 (FFXVI) Demontamer’s Sash: How to get & find
For the uninitiated, Demontamer’s Sash is one of the many pieces of equipment available for the player in Final Fantasy 16. To be more specific, it’s a belt. Demontamer’s Sash has the following description in the game:
“While slaying a demon merely returns its soul to the hell whence it came, until such time as it is resummoned to inhabit a new host, taming a demon is a much more effective means of dampening its evil influence on the corporeal plane. By luring and trapping the undying spirit of hellspawn into accoutrements worn on one’s person, one might also harness their power and channel a portion of it as one’s own.”
When equipped, the item offers 48 Defense and 14 Health as base stats. Players can find this particular piece of equipment at Baywatch, which is located in NorthReach (Northern Sanbreque). Go to the tower at Baywatch in the Royal Meadows and explore the area a bit. You will eventually find a chest containing the Demontamer’s Sash right next to the Tower’s door. That’s it! You don’t have to fight some dangerous monsters or fetch an NPC anything to get this item. However, you might come across some Dragonet or Dragon Aevis, but they aren’t that difficult to beat. Arguably one of the easier finds compared to other items in the game. To equip the item, go to the Gears and Eikons tab, and replace any of the equipped items with it by accessing the Belt section.
