Changing time surely has its benefits in Dead Island 2, but it is not available for players right from the start. With the game released recently on April 21, 2023, fans of the DI series spared no time in enjoying the experience it has to offer. Well, Dead Island 2 offers an intriguing storyline filled with zombies, just like its predecessor. If you have played the game, you’d notice that there are some quests that change the time of day automatically. Some missions start during the day, while some offer a creepier experience at nighttime. But, is it possible to change the time in Dead Island 2 as per your preference? Yes, it is possible, but there are some requirements you need to fulfill.
Featuring a dangerous zombie-filled open world, Dead Island 2 is one of the best visually impressive games to be released in 2023. Developed by Dambuster Studios, it suffered a ton of delays and was finally released. Well, even after being in the development hell for so long, there seem to be certain features missing that are available in most open-world titles. One among them is a dedicated day/night cycle. So, if players want to explore the terrains of the game at night during the day, they are left waiting indefinitely, without proper instructions. Fortunately, there is a way to control time in the game, and to do so, you will have to progress quite a bit.

Dead Island 2: How to alter/change time
Changing the time in Dead Island 2 is not quite complicated once you progress to a certain point. This is because changing time is a part of the Fast Travel mechanic in the game that only unlocks after you complete the “The Red Mist” quest. For this, you will have to gain access to Venice Beach and continue your rampage killing zombies, and then helping the people who ask for your help from the rooftop. Once you do so, the Fast Travel feature will be unlocked.
There are several locations available for you to fast travel, but the highlight here is the change time feature which you will be able to notice once you interact with any of the zone maps to use the Fast Travel feature. Here, you can select either the Day or Night option as per your preference and once you fast travel to the area of choice, the time selected by you will be applied to the world.
Although the option doesn’t let you choose a specific time, it is still a decent addition to the overall experience. With that, you have come to the end of this guide. For more guides like this and information on newly released titles, make sure to visit DigiStatement daily.
