In chapter 969, Orochi Jails Oden, with the help of former Bar Bari no Mi user ( a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to generate barriers for defending with or striking with at will ). The old woman who helped Orochi takes the place of Oden. 1 Year after the attack, Oden discovered in a newspaper Orochi give to him, Roger’s death. Oden was laughing but crying at the same time when he knew Roger’s execution through newspaper.
It probably implies Oden was forced to eat SMILE. Meanwhile, Gecko and Beast Pirates fight each other, where Kaido kills Morai’s crew.
Orochi lured Moria to steal Ryuma’s body and Shusui to blame Oden, which later became a reason for Oden’s execution. It is not known how Orochi, who allied with Kaido, lured Moria to do so. It might happen before Moria’s battle with Kaido.
Three years after that, Orochi kills Hyogoro’s wife and their 16 children. Oden decides he will stop Orochi and Kaido with his servants.
