Rust How to get Cloth

Cloth is one of the basic resources that you’ll have to farm in Rust for many reasons and getting your hands on them is quite frustrating. Rust is one of the most played survival multiplayer games that thrived during the pandemic and still has a lot of active players who frequently play the game. When it comes to crafting, it has plenty of materials that can be found in-game that can be used in the creation of weapons, items, and resources that’ll help you defend against bystanders that are trapped on the island, same as you. Continue reading the article to know how to get Cloth in Rust.

Rust How to get Cloth

Uses of cloth in Rust

Crafting is the core component of the multiplayer survival game, Rust as there are various gear, weapons, outfits, and items made with it. You are vulnerable in many ways as you’re buck naked when you start playing the game and from there you have to find resources and survive at all costs. Cloth is one of the essential items that can provide decent protection against wildlife and environmental dangers. Unlike other resources, finding cloth can be puzzling as the game treats them as a natural resource. The following items can be created if you have cloth in your inventory like Sleeping Bags, Hazmat Suits, Tarps, and lastly Clothes.

How to get cloth in the game?

Fortunately, the game allows multiple ways that you can get your hands on cloth in Rust. We have listed three ways that you can secure the cloth, some are easy while others are a little bit challenging that’ll require fair amounts of exploration and luck on your side.

Hemp Fibers

Harvesting Hemp Fibers is one of the safest and most efficient ways of farming Cloth in Rust. You can find them on the map as triangular plants and it grows in grassy areas. The amount given by the plant will vary depending on how well developed it was from 2 to 10 cloth and one hemp seed. If you’ve gathered enough seeds, you can easily cultivate Hemp fibers at your farm near your base and by crafting planter boxes. Simply walk up to the plant and press the button to pick them up.

Wildlife

Another way that you can get your hands on cloth is by killing animals and harvesting resources from their dead bodies. Do remember that if you wish to obtain cloth this way, you need to have a simple weapon like an ax, rock, or hatchet first. Another benefit of this method is that along with cloth, you’ll also be rewarded with other resources like bone, animal fat, leathers, etc that can be used for crafting other items further in the game. The more dangerous the animal, the more cloth you’ll get. Likewise, the Bear and Wolf yield 50 and 30 cloth while smaller animals like chicken and boar yield 6 and 10 cloth.

Recyclers

If you’ve run out of options and didn’t have much success in finding clothes via the two methods above, recyclers should be used as a last resort. Recyclers are objects that are usually found near warehouses through the map and they can revert certain items into their component ingredients like it can turn the rope into 15 units of cloth and this goes the same for other items. If you have spare items lying around that you don’t require, you can use recyclers to get more cloth.
