Customization in Gran Turismo 7.
To set a standard for the racing genre and make the game a more immersive simulation, Gran Turismo 7 went all out with the customization as we saw in the state of play reveal. In addition to changing body kits, you can modify even the slightest aspects of your car such as adjusting the height of your car, spraying brake calipers, changing spoilers, and lastly changing tires and refilling the fuel tank which mostly happens in real life racing as the car has to go under maintenance after every race and it happens in Gran Turismo 7 as well.
How to change tires in GT 7?
Do keep in mind that the ability to change tires and refueling only happens in custom races and it doesn’t apply to story or multiplayer mode. In the custom race setting, set the “Tire Wear” option to 1x and “Fuel Consumption Rate” to 40x and select the “Go Race” button on the lower-left side of the screen. So, apparently, changing tires and changing fuel tanks in a single race rewards you with a total of 2 trophies.
To get the “New Threads” and “Fill her Up” trophy, 2 laps are required. Once you start a race, you will notice that the tire health and fuel are depleting rapidly. So, after one lap, head to the pitstop and let the engineers fix the tires. Refilling fuel won’t count here since you chose tires first. The Running on Empty trophy will appear before you get to the pitstop.
To change tires, click on the “Intermediate” option while you’re in the pitstop. Once the tires are changed, you’ll get the “New Treads” trophy. After this, get to the pitstop on your next lap again and choose the “don’t change tires” option. Then allow engineers to refill the tank and you’ll get the “Fill Her Up” trophy and that’s how you refill the fuel and change tires in Gran Turismo 7.
