7 Days to Die error log keeps popping up How to fix it

While some are getting to play the full release of 7 Days to Die without any major issues, other players are not so fortunate. These unfortunate players have had to deal with asset loading issues and map not rendering and now we have another issue where the error log pops up again and again. Are you facing the same problem and looking for a fix? Well, you have landed on the right page!

In 7 Days to Die, many like yourself have experienced an issue where the command log keeps popping up unexpectedly, disrupting gameplay. This can be incredibly frustrating, as it interrupts the game’s flow every few steps, making it difficult to enjoy the experience. Now, without any further ado, let’s see if these fixes are available.

Well, as of now, there is no official fix for this issue. Luckily, it is a recurring one and we do have some potential fixes that have successfully resolved the issue for many affected players. Check them out below.

Basic checks

First of all, try restarting the game, as this has helped some players. If that does not work, go ahead and restart your system as well. Next, before relaunching the game, right-click on the shortcut or the .exe file and select the run as administrator option.

Verify Game Files

Corrupted or missing game files can sometimes cause the error log to pop up frequently. To fix this, use Steam’s Verify Integrity of Game Files feature. Right-click on 7 Days to Die in your Steam library, select Properties, then go to the Installed Files tab and click Verify Integrity of Game Files. Wait for the process to finish and then restart the game.

Mods

If you have mods installed, one of them could be causing the error log to appear. Temporarily disable all mods and see if the problem persists. If the issue stops, re-enable the mods one by one to identify the problematic mod. Make sure all your mods are compatible with the latest version of the game to avoid such conflicts. To do this, you will have to visit the sites from which you downloaded all your mods. Check for any available updates and try not to use any mods that have not been updated to work with the 1.0 release.

Launch Game Directly

Another workaround to address the persistent error log issue in 7 Days to Die is to launch the game directly from its .exe file rather than through a launcher like Steam. Once the game starts and you notice red error text appearing, close the game immediately. Then, head to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\The Fun Pimps\7 Days To Die\Player.txt. Open this file to review the error logs. This file contains detailed information about the errors that occurred during the session, which can help you identify the root cause of the problem and find a more specific solution. You can even send this log report to the support team for them to work on it.

Firewall and Antivirus

Most of the time, overly aggressive security software can mistakenly flag the game’s processes as suspicious, causing interruptions or errors. So, what you can do is temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall to allow the game to run without these potential conflicts. If this fixes the issue, you can add 7 Days to Die to your antivirus and firewall’s exception list.

Don’t Overclock

Another thing you can try is checking if your system’s overclock settings, such as GPU or XMP overclock, are causing instability. Overclocking can push your hardware beyond its stable operating limits, leading to errors during gameplay. Run a quick memory test (memtest) to check for issues. If errors appear, it might be best to disable all overclocks to return your system to stable settings.

Rebind

Reassigning the console key to a less frequently used key on the number pad is another effective fix. By default, the console is often tied to the tilde (~) key. Changing this key binding to a key like the asterisk (*) on the number pad can prevent the console from opening unexpectedly. After making this change, you might need to reassign other key bindings, such as your move right key, but this workaround has resolved the issue for some so do give it a shot!

With those workarounds, we hope that you were able to play the game without the error log disturbing you constantly. Now, for more gaming-related content like this, keep visiting DigiStatement daily! Read more: Euro Truck Simulator 2 Greece Map Release Date: When it will be available?
