Tears of the Kingdom is all about exploring and adding items to your inventory to help you with battles. The expansive inventory allows players to select the best weapons, armor sets, and shields to be used during battles or specific situations. One armor set that has gained a lot of attention is the Royal Guard Armor Set. It provides Link with decent defense and is worth the hassle. Like other armor sets in the game, the Royal Guard Armor Set also consists of three pieces, namely, the Royal Guard Cap, Royal Guard Uniform, and Royal Guard Boots. These three pieces are located at three different locations, which we have carefully pinpointed in this guide along with their coordinates to make the hunt easier for you.

Royal Guard Boots

The Royal Guard Boots can be found in the King’s Study in Hyrule Castle. This location does not appear on the surface, thus making it difficult to spot. To collect the boots of the armor set, drop down near the Second Gatehouse of Hyrule Castle, as shown on the map below. The coordinates of the place are -0253, 0877, and 0324.

Make your way into the castle and to a room named Sanctum, which is the first room from the Second Gatehouse. As soon as you enter, go to your right, and you will find an opening that leads you outside. Walk straight until you reach the first cliff and glide to your left. Keep gliding towards your left until you see a green spiral-like projection emerging from a huge rock. Land at Hyrule Castle B2 and make your way down to Hyrule Castle B3. Navigate your way to the library in the basement of the castle; you should be able to find it as shown on the map below. The coordinates to the library are -0169, 1116, and 0226.

As you reach the entrance from Hyrule Castle B3, jump down from the higher ground, and you will see a huge bookshelf behind you. Use Link’s Ultrahand ability to take down the fake door, which will lead you to the King’s Study secretly hidden inside the library. As you go in, you will see a chest right in front of the passage. Open it and collect the Royal Guard boots! To get out of the library, just use Link’s Ascend ability and make your way to the top.

Royal Guard Cap

The second piece of the armor set is the Royal Guard Cap, which can be found in Princess Zelda’s Room. To collect the Royal Guard Cap, you need to go to Hyrule Castle B1. Follow the same steps as you did to collect the Royal Guard Boots; start in the Sanctum, but instead of going towards your right, go left. Glide down to a tiny opening on the wall of the castle and jump down. You’ll find yourself in Princess Zelda’s room, which is in ruins. Look at the map below for the location. The coordinates of the place are -0327, 0999, and 0300. Move around the room to find the chest containing the Royal Guard Cap, and open it to collect the second piece of armor!

The last piece that will complete your Royal Guard Armor set is the Royal Guard Uniform. This piece can be ironically found in the Guards’ Chamber in Hyrule Castle. However, the chamber does not lie on the surface and needs to be carefully navigated. To collect the Royal Guard Uniform, drop down near the First Gatehouse of the castle, as shown in the map below. The coordinates of the place are -0324, 0775, and 0074.

As you make your way inside the entrance, you will see two gates that you will need to move. Use Link’s Ultrahand ability to lift the gate and simultaneously move forward, as the gate will fall as soon as you dismiss the ability. Move the second gate the same way while moving forward. Now, make your way up the stairs on your left and make another left forward. Turn left and move down the stairs, which will lead you to the Guards’ Chamber. Go to the edge of the room and use Link’s Ascend ability to move to the floor on top of the chamber. You will find yourself on a wooden corridor that seems to be broken halfway.

Now, getting to the chest on the other side of the wooden corridor is tricky. You will need to build a makeshift bridge to get there. There will be two huge planks very conveniently placed on the floor; use Link’s Ultrahand ability to attach them together. This will create one long wooden plank, which you can use as a bridge to walk on. Place the bridge on the broken portion very carefully, using the Ultrahand ability. This process can take a few tries, but you’ll get there eventually. Once done, cross the bridge, and open the chest to collect the Royal Guard Uniform!

Well, this brings us to the end of the guide, and we hope the location and information provided above were helpful. Before leaving, make sure to check out DigiStatement for more guides and updates about your favorite games!
