How to fix Error Code 43 in Valorant.
The Error Codes in Valorant are generally tied to internal, server & connectivity issues. There are certain cases where the Riot Client was often found as the culprit behind the issue. Thankfully you can fix it very easily and the workarounds here will help you play the game normally.
Reinstall the game
Many in the Valo community on Reddit confirmed that reinstalling the game seems to have fixed the error code 43. Follow the steps below to reinstall the game.
- In the start menu search box, type Control Panel and click on it.
- Then click on “Uninstall a program” under the Programs and look for Valorant in the list.
- Select Valorant, right-click on it, and select “Uninstall”.
- Once it’s completed, go ahead and install the game again and see if the issue is resolved on your end.
Restart your PC
Restarting the PC is the most preferred fix for many and has worked for many. We too urge you to do so for this error code as well. Then try starting a match and see if you’re able to play normally. If not, see the other fix below.
Delete the Riot Client .yaml file
Error Code 43 can occur when old and outdated files conflict with the main game. Deleting this file is one way to ensure that the game functions smoothly. Follow the steps below on how to do so.
- Press Windows Key + R to bring up the Run dialog box and type %appdata% and press Enter key.
- Open the Appdata folder/Roaming and in the Appdata folder, navigate to Local/Riot Games/Riot Client/Data.
- Look for the file “RiotClientPrivateSettings.YAML” file and delete it.
- Start the game and see if you’re still getting the error code 43 in the game.
Start the VGC service
Valorant has its own proprietary software known as Vanguard that performs integrity checks and bans cheaters who use hacks and exploits. VGC is one of the services that the game uses and if you’re getting error code 43, chances are this service has stopped working. Here’s how to enable it back.
- Close the game and Vanguard service completely from Task Manager and make sure it’s not running in the background.
- Open the Services window by typing “services” in the start menu search box and clicking on it.
- Look for the “vgc” service in the list and double-click on it. Toggle the Startup type to “Automatic” and then click on “Start” to run this service.
DNS Flush
Flushing your DNS can also prove effective against this error code. So, to do this, open the Command Prompt menu. Now, enter the following commands one by one and hit enter.
- netsh winsock reset
- netsh int ip reset
- ipconfig /release
- ipconfig /renew
- ipconfig /flushdns
After this, restart your PC, and then launch the game.
