Twitter is testing new voice message feature for DMs

Twitter is an American microblogging company and social media networking site where users come to talk about what’s happening in the world. Here, the registered users can post and interact using messages known as “tweets”. Over the years since Twitter was launched back in 2006 many new features were added from time to time such as photos, videos, gifs, and extra characters to allow you to write tweets as per your personality.

And now the company is testing a new feature to send voice messages in their direct messages section. Brazil is going to be the first country where users can test these features.

The company said that they know users want an easier option to express themselves on the microblogging platform whether it is a public tweet or a private message. Currently, social media networking sites where you can use voice messaging features are Instagram and Whatsapp.

A Twitter account Techtipster shared this news on Twitter.

By adding a voice feature to Twitter, they are making the site accessible to more people with different abilities. Twitter already announced voice tweets earlier in June this year.

The layout of this voice message feature is similar to the voice tweets feature. Similar to voice tweets it will come with play/pause buttons and your profile photo attached to the recording. There will also be a “report message” option to prevent misuse of audio messages.

Twitter is clearly working on how to make the platform more comfortable and easier for everyone who wants to express their feelings on social media. . They said that “Sometimes 280 characters aren’t enough and some conversational nuances are lost in translation. So starting today, we’re testing a new feature that will add a more human touch to the way we use Twitter – your very own voice”.

Twitter is 4th fastest growing social media network with around 330 million monthly active users and 145 million daily users.

USA’s former president Mr.  Barack Obama has the most number of followers, with over 111m, followed by Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.

The most influential person Twitter is Taylor Swift. Donald Trump is 2nd and Narendra Modi in 3rd place.

Let us know how you will use this feature and what are thoughts on how this new feature will improve the platform. Follow us to stay updated with technology and gaming news.
