Torchlight: Infinite is now out of its open beta phase and has been globally launched. Players can download the game right now if they are on Android, iOS, or Windows. What’s more, Torchlight: Infinite is totally free to download and install, so you don’t need to worry about emptying your pockets. ARPG (action role-playing game) and Torchlight series fans are more than welcome to try out this fourth installment of the Torchlight series from Chinese development studio – XD Inc. The global release of the game also arrives with a new season called – Cube of Rapacity. Featuring a new hero along with new mechanics and a complete crafting overhaul, it’s got lots of content to try and play around with. One major fun part of ARPGs is the multiplayer or co-op aspect of them. And we have been seeing a lot of questions about it in the Infinite community too.
While there surely are some ARPG titles that are purely single-player experiences, most games in this genre do tend to have support for multiplayer or co-op mode. The upcoming Diablo IV by Blizzard Entertainment and the already released Diablo Immortal along with Path of Exile are some of the best examples of that statement. Torchlight: Infinite has been in open beta for some time, so newcomers to the game expected a multiplayer mode to be already included. Let’s see if XD Inc. has done so!! If not, then when?
Torchlight: Infinite Multiplayer/Co-op Release Date: When is it coming out
At the time of writing this article, according to the game’s official Discord server Pre-Season 3 FAQ, Torchlight: Infinite doesn’t have any multiplayer/co-op modes for its players. Right now, the game remains a single-player experience. But, the devs did confirm the fact that multiplayer, or co-op, is being worked on.
So, when is the release date, exactly? Well, it’s particularly hard to tell without going into the speculation realm. A multiplayer mode was supposed to launch with the global release of Season 3, but it was pushed back to some other unknown date. Fans in the community have been guessing a release window of 2024 while others are still hopeful that a multiplayer mode will be made available sometime later this year. Suffice it to say, if you want to experience multiplayer in an ARPG game, you will need to look for some other game.
There’s a pretty good demand for such a mode in Torchlight Infinite, so the developers don’t have any plans to abandon development for multiplayer support. For now, all you can do is take a wait-and-see approach until we get more concrete details on the release of a multiplayer/co-op mode in the future.
