As per Genki, the developers behind this series of video games, they wanted to provide players with an early access phase of the game before releasing the full version. If you take a look at the platforms on which the previous games in the Tokyo Xtreme Racer were released, you will see that some of them were PC exclusives, while some were also ported to consoles, including the PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360. In addition to this, do note that none of the previous titles were released on the Switch, and that’s because the Switch wasn’t even available back then. The last game in the series was released back in 2007, and the Switch debuted in 2017. A huge 10-year gap.
