The Precinct Red Pixels Issue: Is there any fix yet
As of now, the red pixels issue hasn’t been officially acknowledged by the developers, which is why waiting for an official fix is just wasting time. So, here are the workarounds worth trying in the meantime:
Force Vulkan
This issue stems from the graphics API being used by the game. So, to bypass this error, you can switch to a different graphics API, namely Vulkan. Switching to this has fixed the issue for many. But do you know how to force the game to run with the Vulkan API? If not, follow the mentioned steps:
- First, launch Steam and then go to Library.
- After this, right-click on The Precinct and then select the Properties option.
- Now, go to the General tab, and under the Launch Options textbox, enter the following: “-force-vulkan” (without the quotes).
- Once done, launch the game and then check whether the red pixels issue persists.
Restart
If the issue persists, consider restarting your PC and then launching the game. A fresh restart might fix this temporary issue so we recommend doing so.
Update GPU Drivers
Another workaround worth trying is to make sure that your GPU’s drivers are updated to the latest version. For this, head over to the official website of your GPU manufacturer (Nvidia/AMD) and then download the latest drivers for your specific GPU. Once done, install the drivers and then restart your PC. After this, launch the game to check whether the issue persists.
