2023 is a great year for fighting game fans. Bandai Namco is releasing details on the Tekken 8 roster quite regularly, NetherRealm Studios is coming into the fold with Mortal Kombat 1, and finally, Capcom is here with the next installment of the Street Fighter franchise, Street Fighter 6. Released on June 1, 2023, for the PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, the game’s reception has been pretty great from major gaming media outlets. Now that Street Fighter 6 is finally here, there are a lot of unknown factors about the game that many don’t know about. Take, for example, whether Steam Family Share is supported for it.
For the uninitiated, Steam Family Share is a feature that is provided by Valve on its digital storefront. The feature allows a user to share their Steam library with friends and family, provided they have authorization from the owner. You can play each other’s games and even earn your own Steam achievements along with separate saves through Steam Cloud. All in all, it’s a great little feature. According to the Family Sharing FAQ, a user can share his library with up to 10 devices at any given point in time. Furthermore, up to five accounts can use your game library. One thing to note here is that you need to be online if you want to use this feature. And that only one user can access a library at a particular time. So, now that you are somewhat familiar with Steam Family Share, let’s see if Street Fighter 6 can be played using this feature.
