There’s a new entry in the Story of Seasons series, and it’s another great little title from Marvelous Inc. Called Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, the game is a remake of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, which was a 2003 released Gamecube title. The remake comes with lots of good improvements while staying true to the original game as closely as possible. Although the in-game experience is quite laid-back and relaxing, something that a lot of players are having a particularly hard time with is getting Ducks in the game, as there’s no option to buy them directly like Chickens and other animals.
Animals are a big part of farming sim titles and can be as profitable as fishing and farming. In Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, you can get animals such as cows, chickens, and goats to produce lots of profitable items. But for some reason, players are unable to purchase ducks directly in the game. Well, here’s a guide that will help you with that.
Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life: How to Get & Find Ducks
If you want to get Ducks in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, then you will need to buy the pond first. You can get it from the Order Facilities menu in the Ledger for about 10,000 Gold in total. Now, unlike Stardew Valley, where most animal facilities are just a click away from being set up, you will not get Ponds and Ducks in Story of Season right away.
You can purchase the Pond during Year 1 of your stay in the valley. Once you have done so, you will need to wait for Takakura to arrive and state that the pond will be ready in the upcoming days. Also, make sure you have two spaces in your coop for your “soon-to-be-found” ducks. Go through the natural story progression and get married in the game by the end of the first year. But why marry? Because there’s a “duck event”, which only triggers if you have a spouse.
When the summer of Year 2 arrives, depending on the person you wed, your partner will wake up earlier than you, or you will wake up before them. Once the day approaches and your partner wakes up earlier than you, an event will trigger in which your spouse will talk to you about the ducks they found at the pond. Make sure that you accept the proposal to let the ducks stay instead of rejecting it. Name the ducks, and they will then move on to the coop to live with the chickens (if you have any). Do note that if you select not to get Ducks during the “Duck Event”, you will lose the chance to get them forever. So be careful about that.
