Have you gotten your hands on the full release of Stellar Blade after trying out the demo, which was released much earlier? If you’ve been wondering whether the progress you gained in that demo can transfer to the full game, the short answer is YES! You’ll be pleased to know that all the hard-earned skill points and story progression you made in the demo won’t go to waste. But there’s a catch.
Stellar Blade, the PS5-exclusive title, was recently released on PC (June 11, 2025), developed by Shift Up as a stunning action-adventure title. Ahead of its full release, the developers offered a demo version where players could get a taste of the combat, story, and mechanics. Many players are complaining that after playing the Stellar Blade demo, they’re unable to transfer their progress to the full game. This is likely because they haven’t completed the demo yet, since the transfer data prompt only appears once the demo is fully finished. In this guide, we’ll cover how to smoothly transfer your demo progress to the full game and what to do if the transfer data prompt doesn’t appear.

Stellar Blade Transfer Demo Progress to Full Game: How to do it
Complete the Demo
The most crucial step is to fully complete the Stellar Blade demo. This usually means reaching and defeating the first main boss (Abaddon) in the demo. If you haven’t finished the demo’s main segment, your progress might not be recognized for transfer. The game is designed to prompt you to transfer your save data upon launching the full version. Simply confirm this prompt, and your progress will be carried over.
If the Transfer Prompt Doesn’t Appear
If you’ve completed the demo but don’t see the transfer option, you might need to manually trigger it. This typically involves deleting existing full game save data to force the game to re-check for demo saves. To do this efficiently, our fellow Steam players have come up with a few possible methods to overcome the issue of not being able to carry over the demo progress to the full game.
Here’s an explained way to follow this method that has successfully triggered the demo save transfer as suggested by Glockstar Duey and I am Alexios on Steam.
- Step 1: Close Stellar Blade (Full Game): Ensure the game is not running.
- Step 2: Disable Steam Cloud Save for Stellar Blade (Full Game).
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click on Stellar Blade (the full game, not the demo).
- Select “Properties.”
- Go to the “General” tab and uncheck “Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Stellar Blade.”
- Step 3: Delete Existing Full Game Save Files.
- Press WINDOWS KEY + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type %localappdata% and press Enter. This will open your local AppData folder.
- Navigate to SB\Saved\SaveGames\.
- Inside the SaveGames folder, you will likely find a folder with a string of random numbers. Delete the entire contents of this folder (or the folder itself if it is the only one). This clears any initial, empty, or corrupted save data the full game might have created. Now, launch the game.
- Step 5: Look for the Transfer Prompt: With no existing save data for the full game, it should now detect your completed demo save and present you with the option to transfer your data.
- Step 6: Re-enable Steam Cloud Save: Once your demo save has successfully transferred, you can return to Steam properties for Stellar Blade and re-enable “Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud.”
Alternative Method
There is also another way, as shared by another Steam user, Mh006, to attempt the transfer, but it requires you to keep the game file running during the process, which involves keeping the full game running while deleting the save files. This will force a Steam Cloud sync that will wipe out the Steam Cloud data for Stellar Blade. Here is an explained way to follow this method:
- First, launch Stellar Blade.
- Delete your save data located at %localappdata%\SB\Saved\SaveGames\. There should be a folder with “a collection of random numbers” (Steam ID) inside. Make sure you delete all the data inside this folder while the Stellar Blade game itself is running.
- Close Stellar Blade. This action, performed immediately after deleting the local saves while the game was running, is intended to force a Steam Cloud sync that will wipe out the cloud data for Stellar Blade (again, only the full game, not the demo).
- Restart Stellar Blade. You should now receive the pop-up to transfer data.
By following these steps, you should be able to bring your demo progress into the full game and continue your full game with your demo progress. We hope you found this article helpful. Make sure to visit DigiStatement regularly for more such guides and fixes on gaming things.
