The Sims

An open-world game like Sims 4 gets even better with amazing graphics. But there are some factors due to which your game is not able to clock better graphics. But not to worry, as this article has got your back. Read this article, where we talk about how you can remove lags and enhance performance in the Sims 4, without deleting Mods/CC or changing graphic settings. Follow the instructions step-by-step.

Delete Household and Characters

When you load the Sims 4 game, click on Load Game. Check on how many Sims you got. Here, you need to check the status of their household. Go to the Library from the main menu and see which household is getting unused. An effective way of improving performance in the game is therefore by deleting the unused households, as they take up a huge amount of space. The cache can clog your system and henceforth affect your overall gaming performance. You need to select the character or the household you want to delete individually. Upon doing this, you will see a significant improvement in your gaming performance.

Going Offline

  • In the main game menu, go to Options, and select Game Options.
  • From here, select Other on the left-hand side tab.
  • You will see the option of Online Features Access. Uncheck the box and this will automatically disable online notifications.
  • You can also disable in-game surveys (this option would be in the Other menu as well).
  • Click on Apply Changes.

Sims 4: Deleting Game Cache and Origin Cache

To delete the game cache of The Sims 4, simply head to the game’s location. The path would be

This PC > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4

From The Sims 4 folder, you need to delete the localthumbcache.package file.

To delete the cache of Origin, head to your Local Disk, where your operating software (OS) is downloaded. In the majority of the cases, it is the C;\ drive. From the drive, you need to select Program Data. Henceforth, when you access the folder, open Origin. From here, you need to delete all the folders with the name cache. This includes:

  • AchievementCache
  • CatalogCache
  • CustomBoxartCache
  • DownloadCache
  • EntitlementCache
  • IGOCache
  • NonOriginContentCache

These are some of the ways you can improve the performance of the Sims 4 game, even without tweaking with the Graphics option or deleting any CC or Mods. For more gaming guides, click here.
