The Create-a-Sim (CAS) screen in The Sims 4 is arguably where Simmers spend most of their time. But let’s face it—endlessly scrolling through clothes and accessories in only two or three columns is not something you’d want to spend much time on. But, fortunately, there is a better way to add more columns in our CAS and optimize the way you use this feature. In this guide, we have shared everything related to how you can get more columns in Sims 4 CAS.
Need more room for creating your Sims? Two columns in Create-A-Sim (CAS) can also make things feel compact. This is even more true if you have a lot of packs or custom content (CC). There isn’t an in-game way to add to the number of columns, but a mod from weerbesu, called “More Columns in CAS,” can easily fix this. It lets you choose among 3, 4, or even 5 columns, giving you a much better view. More columns mean less scrolling and more visibility—making it much easier to pick and compare different looks for your Sims.

Sims 4: How to get more columns in CAS
Download the “More Columns in CAS” Mod
Start off with going into the mod’s download. The “More Columns in CAS” mod is by weerbesu from their Patreon, which you can find right here.
Note: While on Patreon, the mod tends to be a free download. Just find the download links.
Select your version: The mod typically comes in a bundle of versions for how many columns you’d like to display (e.g., 3, 4, or 5 columns). Choose the one that meets your screen size and preference. Be sure to download a new version. As a new update of the game hits, you will have to make sure to update the mods as well, or they may fail to work and cause problems.
Put the Mod File in Your Sims 4 Mods Folder
Once the mod file is downloaded (most of the time it will be a .package file), put it in the proper place for your game to recognize it. Navigate to your Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. Then drag and drop your downloaded package file straight into this “Mods” folder. You can place it in a subfolder for neater management (e.g., Mods/CAS Columns/ModName.package), but don’t place it too many folders deep.
Turn On Mods in Your Game Settings
- If you haven’t already, you’ll need to tell The Sims 4 that mods are allowed. Occasionally game updates can disable these settings. Launch The Sims 4.
- Go to Game Options > Other.
- Make sure “Enable Custom Content and Mods” is checked.
- Ensure “Script Mods Allowed” is checked as well for the mod to work properly.
- Click “Apply Changes” and then restart your game completely for the settings to take effect.
Restart Your Game
After you’ve placed the mod file and made sure your game settings are correct, you just need to give your system a quick restart. This helps the game load the new mod files.
Check in Create-A-Sim
Once your game restarts, it’s time to open the game and go into Create-A-Sim. You should now see more columns on your screen, making it much easier to browse clothes, hairstyles, and accessories!
