Hollow Knight: Silksong is a 2D platforming and combat game that brings improved movement physics, graphics, and many more features compared to its prequel. However, within 24 hours of launching, the game ran into unexpected troubles, first with the Steam servers and then at the user end. In this article, we have discussed the problem with DualSense Controllers while trying to play and possible remedies discovered so far.
Silksong DualSense Controller support not working: Any fix yet?
Users reported that the game didn’t recognize the DualSense Controller. While suggestions from the community members encouraged users to turn on Steam input, the game showed the Xbox layout for the controller instead. While the DualSense edge controllers are not recognized by a few games sometimes, this problem persisted even for normal controllers. Some players reported being able to use them with the USB plugged in; however, it was not working in Bluetooth mode. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- If you are using Steam, launch the game in big picture mode. The icon for this mode will be present beside the icon to minimize the window. To exit this mode, press Esc, navigate to ‘Power’, and choose Exit Big Picture Mode.
- Disconnect all the external input devices connected to your system and then reconnect the DualSense Controller.
- We mentioned earlier about enabling Steam input. To do this, right-click on the game icon in the Steam library. Select properties, navigate to ‘controller’, and try toggling steam input on and off, and then launching the game.
- If the controller is not recognized properly by Windows, the first thing you need to do is head to Settings, then go to devices and look for Bluetooth and devices, then click on Devices. You need to make sure Dual Sense Controller shows up in the list as Wireless Controller. Right click on it, then select Game Controller Settings and check if the inputs are properly detected. If it doesn’t detect, then try to connect it via USB or try to re-pair over Bluetooth.
- You can try downloading and installing the PlayStation Accessories or Xbox Accessories for controllers to work.
These steps seemed to have worked for most of the users with the DualSense Controller. There has been no official report from the developer, Team Cherry, in this regard. However, we expect a permanent solution soon.
