Pachinko lover Konami finally decided to breathe new life into their video gaming sector a few years ago and since then has greenlighted several remakes and new games. Among these titles is the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake. The original Silent Hill 2 is widely regarded as one of, if not the best, horror games in video gaming history, so this getting a remake is particularly huge. Konami has tasked Bloober Team, the studio behind Layers of Fear, The Medium, and Blair Witch, with developing the remake, so it’s going to be interesting to see how the studio fares compared to the original. Konami has announced that the game will be arriving for PS5 and Windows, and this has led to many players asking if it will be playable on the Steam Deck, Legion Go, and the Rog Ally.
PC handhelds have been getting increasingly popular these days, and now even MSI is getting into the business with the reveal of MSI Claw. And with so many great games releasing in 2024 and beyond, it’s only evident that players would want to know whether a game they like will be playable on the PC handheld they are using. So, without much further ado, continue reading to find out if you will be able to enjoy Silent Hill 2 Remake on Steam Deck, Legion Go, and the Rog Ally.
Silent Hill 2 Remake (2024) Steam Deck, Legion Go & Asus Rog Ally Support details
As of now, Konami has yet to release any kind of information regarding Silent Hill 2 Remake being playable on the Steam Deck, Legion Go, and the Rog Ally. Except for a 2024 scheduled release, we don’t even know the exact release date of the game. While we might not have any official confirmation from Konami or Bloober, there’s a good chance that players will be able to enjoy SH2 Remake on any of the three PC handhelds.
Bloober Team shared the PC specs for Silent Hill 2 Remake a while ago, and the following are the minimum requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 x64
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 50 GB available space
- Sound Card: Windows Compatible Audio Device.
- Additional Notes: Playing on minimum requirements should enable to play on Low/Medium quality settings in FullHD (1080p) in stable 30 FPS.
With these requirements, Rog Ally and Legion Go users should be able to play the game. However, running it on high quality will affect performance. The same goes for the Steam Deck. In case you didn’t know, the Deck comes with a processor that’s particularly lower in terms of performance when compared to Rog Ally and Legion Go’s Z1 Extreme. As such, Steam Deck users would likely have to run the game on medium to low settings with 30 or 40 FPS. For now, what Silent Hill fans need to do is just wait for Konami to release more information on the upcoming game.
