Samurai Warriors 5 is a hack and slash game published by Koei Tecmo. This game is originated in Japan and is known as Sengoku Musou 5 Japan. For those who do not know the meaning of hack and slash, it means that the main character of the game will be up for a fight against hundreds of enemies on the battlefield. The objective of the main character is to defeat the boss enemy or enemy commander. Koei Tecmo has promised in their Nintendo Direct Presentation that there are going to be the revamped character designs for this game. They also mentioned that Samurai Warriors 5 is going to be a “fresh re-imagining” of the franchise.
However, there is a decline in the number of the playable character in this game. Previously, in Samurai Warriors 4, the number of playable characters was 55. On the other hand, in Samurai Warriors 5, this number has decreased to 37. Out of these 37 characters, 21 characters are returning and 16 characters will be new. This game can be enjoyed in single-player as well as multiplayer modes.

Talking about the release date, the release date for the whole world is going to be different from that of Japan. Koei Tecmo has revealed that the game will be releasing on June 24 for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in Japan. And, this game is going to release on July 27 for the whole world for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One.
The game looks promising as of now and is all set to release on the above-mentioned dates. The release of this game was revealed this year only (back in February). So, we can also expect other surprises from Koei Tecmo.
