Roblox is an online game platform and game creation system that allows users to program games and play games created by other users. Now that Roblox is trying to enter the stock market, the Roblox Voice Chat Feature release is confirmed officially. Along with some more features in order to appeal to the investors.
Roblox Investor day
Roblox held an Investor Day on February 26, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET. The stream was about the future that Roblox was heading in as a company and Roblox has become one of the top-grossing apps on Apple and Google devices through its millions of user-created games. That allows kids to hang out with their friends while navigating theme parks, racing on speedways and adopting pets. Roblox wants their game to be the next virtual hangout place like you see in the movie Ready Player One. “We’re increasingly appealing to an older user base,” CFO Mike Guthrie said in the video. He said usage among people age 13 and older more than doubled last year and that demographic now accounts for 44% of daily active users.

Roblox Voice Chat Feature
In the Investor Day stream, Roblox announced that they will add a safe voice chat feature. They also announced other features like cloth layering and face tracing. This will enable the players to customise their avatars to a new level of details.
We may be heading to a VR territory where people find their escape from reality. The voice chat feature is certainly a plus but there are certain traps that the Roblox team needs to avoid. That is censorship, as we all know the target demographic of Roblox is kids under the age of 15. This comes with very angry teens and pre-teens who use foul language. They need to be able to have a system powerful enough to detect swear words and then censor them.
