Roblox is one of the most popular gaming platforms currently, and it features many popular games like Grow a Garden, Steal a Brainrot and many more. Well as the popularity of the platform is rising, Roblox team is introducing new features to the platform every year. So, yesterday we saw the addition of a brand-new TikTok and YouTube shorts like feature to the platform named Roblox Moments.
Roblox Moments is currently in beta, and currently has a limited set of features. It allows players to capture 30 second gameplay clips, trimming those clips and adding music to them. However, your friends or community can see your Moments only within the Roblox platform.
Well, Roblox has been under the scanner for the last few months due to court cases against the platform due to its safety issues for children. So for Roblox Moments safety measures have been raised up, where every clip is moderated before it goes live and users can flag any inappropriate videos they see. Also, currently, Roblox moments is only available for players aged 13 or above.
Roblox Moments reflects the platform vision to become a complete social ecosystem rather than just being a gaming platform. While blending all the elements like creation, gameplay and content in one place, Roblox is positioning itself as more than a gaming platform.
How to create & use Roblox Moments
Now, let’s understand how you can create your Roblox Moments and share it with friends and community.
1) Firstly, you need to select any game that you want to play.
2) You need to click on the three bar icon on the top-left and click on Captures
3) Once the Captures are enabled, you will observe two icons on the right of your screen, one for video and another for photo.
4) So, whenever you want to capture your favorite moment, you need to click on record button and recording of your gameplay will start.
5) Once the recording is completed, you need to exit the game and from the Roblox home screen search bar you need to search for Moments.
6) Open the Moments app, it will show you Tiktok and YouTube shorts like interface.
7) Next up is you need to click on + button at the top, it will open a prompt asking ‘Allow access to captures’. You are required to allow it.
8) On the next screen, you will see, three tabs – All, Photos and Videos
9) From here you can select your video, it will open up an editing screen asking you to trim the video if you want.
10) Next step is adding music to the video, you can select from tons of music from the music library provided in the Moments app.
11) Once music is added, it will ask you to add a Description of your choice, here you can add any words you want matching your video style.
12) Next it will ask you to Post the video, clicking on Post will publish your Moments with the Roblox community.
13) If you think, something is not correct or video needs correction, you can also delete your Moments.
