RoadCraft, by Saber Interactive, is their latest title in the simulation genre, featuring the life of a leader in the infrastructure development scene. In the game, you will be driving various vehicles, fixing roads, and making sure that the city’s transport runs smoothly without halt. Now, while doing so, you might have noticed random FPS drops or stuttering issues in the game that just break immersion. Well, you aren’t the only player encountering this. The game has serious optimization issues, which is why players with high-end rigs are also facing FPS drops. That said, if you are wondering how to get rid of this problem, this is just the guide you need. Here, we have shared everything there is to know about the issue and how to fix it for good.
The minimum system requirements of RoadCraft include the following:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X / Intel Core i5-8400
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: 6 GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 590 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / Intel ARC A580
Specs-wise, the numbers aren’t huge. You won’t need a 4090 to run the game at playable FPS. But that’s only on paper. There are reports from players with GPUs as high as a 4090 encountering constant FPS drops in-game, which is not the experience one would expect after spending this much money. But this happens because of poor optimizations. Anyway, below, we have shared a bunch of effective workarounds to try.

RoadCraft FPS Drops/Stuttering Issue troubling players: Is there any fix yet
Update GPU Drivers
Before you try anything, you should make sure that you are using the latest driver version for your GPU. Be it Nvidia or AMD, you should visit the official website of your GPU manufacturer and download the latest drivers for your GPU. After this, install the same and then restart your PC. Now, launch the game to check whether the issue persists. A player did fix the FPS drops issue in the game by simply updating their GPU drivers, so it’s a shot.
Use FSR3
Even if you have an Nvidia GPU, using FSR3 for upscaling might be the fix you need to get rid of the FPS stuttering in RoadCraft. A player also mentioned the same. What they did was enable FSR3, along with Frame Generation and then capped the in-game FPS to 120. This made the stuttering barely noticeable. You can give this a try too. All you have to do is head into the game’s settings menu, and then in the Video tab, set the Resolution Upscale setting to FSR3. After this, set the FPS limit option to 120. Once done, save the changes and then check whether the stuttering persists.
Turn on VSync
If the stuttering persists, you can also try turning on VSync. This setting can be found in the game’s Settings menu, inside the Video tab. Enable VSync and then check if the issue persists.
Third-party Patch file Download
This workaround involves downloading a .zip file containing a patch fix from a modder who fixed the same issue in SnowRunner. This patch also fixes the stuttering issue in RoadCraft. While some have shared that it didn’t fix the issue for them, there are players who have reported it to work. So, you can give it a try. More details on this patch are shared here. In addition to this, you can also try this patch shared by Steam user Ghastuos to fix the stuttering issues in-game.
Reinstall
If none of the workarounds have been of any help, then consider reinstalling the game, as it is the only thing left to try. Maybe a fresh reinstall is all you need to get rid of this issue.
