Remnant 2: How to Increase Trait Points Cap

The dark fantasy action genre is growing more popular day by day. It is really enjoyable to indulge in a game that lets you be a character with special powers and fight hordes of enemies. Well, that too, with unique weapons and abilities. Remnant 2 revolves around a similar concept where you take on the role of a character who fights evil by traveling between multiple universes. The game is being praised for its unique plot and new mechanics. Remnant 2 offers a very diverse experience whenever the player enters a new world to combat evil, with a range of firearms and melee weapons to fight off horrid creatures. Now, the trait system is something that makes the game more interesting. Players are wondering how to increase Trait Points Cap in Remnant 2. If you are wondering about the same, continue reading.

Traits are an important part of the combat system in Remnant 2. These are special passive abilities that give buffs to the player throughout the entire game. Well, some traits are exclusive to their Archetypes, while most are common to all. Usually, the game allows various traits to be equipped for one character (common ones), but only one archetype-specific trait can be equipped. Players can level up their trait levels and even use them in different builds using Trait Points. One can obtain Trait points by defeating bosses, completing various quests/puzzles, or taking down the randomly spawning enemy known as the Aberrations. You can use trait points to equip traits that do not fit your build type. But there is a cap on these Trait points, meaning players can only use the Trait Points to a certain limit. So, let’s get into the details of how to increase the trait points cap in the game.

Well, each trait can be upgraded to a maximum level of 10. And, since a character can be equipped with a maximum of six traits, this makes the overall trait cap to be 60. And, there is no official way to increase it. Things are hard for players when they engage in combat with this trait point cap in existence. A lot of players are discussing this matter on the game’s Steam discussion forums and Reddit, stating that the trait cap is quite low. Well, most are wondering whether there is a way around this cap on trait points. Well, there is a way. How? Using Mods!

There is a mod available for surpassing the Trait Point Cap fixed by the game developers in Remnant 2. It is the Trait Cap Increase mod that you need to install. After installing it, the in-game Trait Cap will be set to 290, which is more than enough. However, before trying this mod, you should note that it only works in the game’s single-player mode. That said, do you know how to install this mod? If not, consider following these steps:

How to install the Trait Cap Increase Mod in Remnant 2?

  • Start by downloading the “Allow Asset Mods” mod, and extracting its files. It allows you to load custom mods in Remnant 2.
  • Next, head to the directory where Steam is installed and follow the path as given: Steam\steamapps\common\Remnant2.
  • Here, paste the files from the “Allow Asset Mods” mod.
  • Once this is done, download the Trait Cap Increase Mod and extract its content.
  • Then, head to the same directory as mentioned above: Steam\steamapps\common\Remnant2, and paste the files of the Trait Cap Increase Mod. If the option to replace files pops up, make sure to select it.
  • Now, launch the game.
