Rematch Easy Anti-Cheat Error 10009: Is there any fix yet

Newly released Rematch has been highly praised for providing a fresh touch to the sports genre. However, many players playing the game via PC Game Pass have reported facing Easy Anti-Cheat Error 10009, not letting them launch the game. In this guide, we will cover why this issue occurs along with a confirmed fix for it, so continue reading.

Easy Anti-Cheat Error 10009 is a launch-related error that indicates EAC could not properly initialize or validate your game environment. For a significant number of players, EAC Error 10009 occurs when Rematch is installed on a drive other than your primary Windows C: drive. Easy Anti-Cheat appears to have issues with file pathing or permissions that prevent it from correctly reading or verifying game files on secondary drives. This means if you’ve installed Rematch on your E: or any other drive besides C:, you are much more likely to encounter this error. Now that we know why this issue occurs, let’s get you a fix that will fix the issue.

Move Rematch to Your C: Drive

Based on multiple community reports from players facing Error 10009, the most consistent and effective fix is to move your Rematch installation to your primary Windows C: drive.

How to Move Rematch (Xbox App/Game Pass PC)

  • Open the Xbox App on your PC.
  • Go to My Library and find Rematch.
  • Right-click on Rematch and select “Manage.“
  • Go to the “Files” tab.
  • Click on “Change Drive.“
  • Select your C: drive from the list of available drives.
  • The Xbox App will then move the game files to your C: drive. This process may take some time depending on your internet speed and the size of the game.
  • Once the move is complete, restart your PC and try launching Rematch again.

This simple workaround will help you fix the Easy Anti-Cheat Error 10009 in Rematch or any other game. But as this method involves moving the game to your C: drive, make sure you have enough space on that drive. You can transfer some files from your C: drive or clean up unnecessary ones. Although this issue is quite common for many games launched via Xbox/Game Pass, there is yet no other particular fix for it.
